Real change with Qurban
A record of action
Qurban Hussain has been getting things done for local people for 15 years. As a leading councillor on Luton Borough Council he has stuck up for local people against Labour’s cuts in services.
Qurban left the Labour Party on the day that Tony Blair took us to war in Iraq. He was welcomed to the Liberal Democrats by Charles Kennedy.
Uniting our community
Qurban Hussain believes it is important to ensure that people come together from across our community and that we fight extremism of all kinds.
Only by working together can we make Luton a more equal, prosperous and safer community.
Protecting our green spaces
There has been much discussion about how we increase the number of homes in Luton. We must protect our green spaces as much as possible, “Luton’s lungs”.
It is essential that we look more closely at brown field sites to ensure that the development takes place on the most suitable land as it would be wrog to impose a housing development on an area when there are more suitable sites elsewhere.
Investing in our future
Qurban Hussain and the Liberal Democrats want to make sure that we give our children the best opportunities in life and a clean, safe environment to grow up in.
The Lib Dems will invest in our schools to cut class sizes and abolish Labour’s unfair tuition fees.
We will lead the fight for real action to stop climate change by making Britain a world leader in renewable energy.
Getting Luton working
Luton has a proud history of industry. Young people leave the town as they see their prospects of finding work here as being poor.
Qurban Hussain will fight to protect and build on Luton’s business and industry after decades of cuts by Labour and Conservative governments.
